Emmerdale has unveiled the true murderer in Anthony Fox’s storyline to be Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) in a shocking turn of events. However, ITV soap fans believe they have figured out when Anthony’s lifeless body will be found – and it’s imminent.
Last week saw Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) viciously attack the wicked Anthony (Nicholas Day) at Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) depot. Although Anthony was alive when Aaron fled the scene, he was dead by the time Aaron returned.
Aaron’s partner John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) calmly took charge of the situation, disposing of the body, managing the crime scene and preventing Aaron from confessing to anyone.
On Thursday (January 30), the real killer was revealed as a tormented Aaron went to confess to Ruby. This significant decision came after Aaron realised his ongoing guilt struggle was negatively impacting his mental health.
In high-stakes scenes, Aaron confessed to Ruby that he sought revenge on her father after discovering that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby during her teenage years.

Anthony Fox was killed last Thursday by Ruby
This revelation triggered painful memories of his own abuse experience with his father Gordon. In a surprising twist, Ruby told Aaron: “You didn’t kill him – I did”, reports Leeds Live.
Flashback scenes then depicted how Ruby had arrived at the depot between Aaron’s two visits. After witnessing Aaron fleeing the scene, Ruby discovered Anthony on the ground, injured but alive.
She recounted the moment of rage, saying: “I turned to go, then he touched me and something inside me just snapped.
“I wasn’t looking down at my father anymore – I was looking down at the thing that had ruined my life.”
Emmerdale’s John and Aaron have been covering up Anthony’s murder
Following the act of suffocating Anthony, Ruby admitted the deed to her spouse Caleb that very day.
Earlier in the week, John and Aaron got rid of Anthony’s vehicle, with John remaining tight-lipped about the whereabouts of Anthony’s body.
enthusiasts are speculating that John may have dumped the body in a lake, predicting it will surface during a chilling car crash over a frozen lake in February, threatening several characters’ lives.
Anthony was still alive when Aaron left the depot
A social media user speculated: “I think we may get a flashback in the future showing John was the one who actually killed Anthony.”
They continued: “In the flashback we will see him disposing of the body in the river like we saw at New Year in the flash forward. The body will float and sink and when they have the car crash in February and someone is trapped under the ice, they will discover the body whilst down there.”
Another fan predicted: “Surely we are gonna see the flash forward at some point of pushing a body in the river/ lake #. It’s got to be Anthony in there surely.”
Emmerdale’s next stunt involves a car in a frozen lake
One viewer queried on social media: “Why is John being so cagey about where he’s hidden the body? #.”
Meanwhile, another speculated: “I’m guessing so they can keep it as a surprise when it gets dragged out of the icy water when looking for survivors at the lake accident.”
