Most cruise liners have guest services onboard that provide information and assistance for passengers during their time throughout their cruise.

The Guest Services Desk is typically found on the main deck of the cruise ship and is there to help with any concerns, questions, or issues. However, there is a catch: it is most likely going to be busy on specific days.

Madden advised that in order to enhance your time onboard, “avoid guest services on the first or last day onboard.”

Hochberg further explained this, adding: “All too often, I see people waiting in line for guest services on the first or last day of the cruise”.

“These are lines they don’t have to wait in if they had just taken care of it at a different time they could have avoided waiting in line.”

Madden instead recommends “taking care of the issues that you have on other days and if you’re up early in the morning or late at night is the best time to see them as well”.

Hochberg added: “Obviously if there is an emergency where you’re locked out of your room or something else that needs to be taken care of immediately you should go to guest services.

“But if you can help or you just have a general question, try to go a little later when there isn’t a line”.

He further explained that if there is an emergency, however, it’s best to wait in line for guest services, but try to avoid the first afternoon onboard as there will be many people also asking many questions so it’s best to come back later.

“In addition, you may see crew members around the ship wearing a bright yellow shirt that usually says ‘can I help you’ and you can definitely ask them those questions,” added Hochberg.

“As long as it’s not a billing question or something that needs to be physically produced, they can usually help you out with that as well”.

“This is all just about not wasting your precious vacation time”.
