Football fans hankering for wings on Super Bowl Sunday could score a big freebie.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, Super Bowl LIX will kick off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. For the seventh consecutive year, Buffalo Wild Wings is offering a big prize to us all if the big game goes into overtime: free chicken wings, no strings attached.
The chain announced the potential deal on X in response to a Jan. 29 clip from Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“You don’t have to take a side @JasonKelce,” the Buffalo Wild Wings account wrote. “Probably crazy for doing this again, but if the big game goes to overtime, we’ll give away free wings to all of America.”
Kelce responded to the chain’s post, writing, “This is absolutely insane, now I’m rooting for overtime!!”
Here are the rules, per Buffalo Wild Wings: If the game on Feb. 9 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles is tied after regulation play and goes into overtime, everyone in the U.S. can redeem six free boneless or traditional wings.
Customers can redeem the free wings for dine-in and in-person takeout (not delivery!) on Monday, Feb. 24, from 2 p.m until 5 p.m. local time.
Buffalo Wild Wings offered the same deal in 2024, and since Super Bowl LVIII went into overtime before the Kansas City Chiefs secured the win, the chain kept its word. About two weeks later, fans were able to grab six free wings each from the chicken chain.
Tristan Meline, CMO at Buffalo Wild Wings, said in a press release that the chain gave away over 2.5 million wings last year.
