are set to receive a stunning £90million transfer offer for winger Kaoru Mitoma, according to reports.

Al-Nassr are intent on signing the Japanese international and have already seen a turned down by the Seagulls. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler is thought to be against selling Mitoma, who has scored five goals and laid on three assists in the this season.

But the club’s resolve could soon be put to the ultimate test, as claim that a final, take-it-or-leave-it offer worth up to £90m is being prepared by the side.

If Brighton decide to take the money and run, and the figures prove to be accurate, it would go down as one of the most lucrative deals of all time. The Seagulls are no strangers to banking huge sums in the transfer market, having sold Moises Caicedo to for a Prem-record in 2023.

They may now be set for another massive windfall if Al-Nassr get their hands on Mitoma. Brighton paid just to sign the wide man from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021.

He spent a season on loan at Belgian side Union SG, and has scored 18 goals in 92 games since joining up with the Seagulls at the start of the 2022/23 season. Hurzeler and Brighton may not want to sell Mitoma but the sums involved will surely have taken them by surprise.

Al-Nassr are a long way behind Al-Hilal in the race for the Saudi Pro League crown and have raided Aston Villa for Jhon Duran to boost their title credentials. The Colombian striker is on the verge of completing a switch to the Middle East that would see him link up with superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte.

Whether he will be joined by Mitoma remains to be seen. The Brighton man became the leading Japanese scorer in history earlier this month, and Hurzeler marked the accomplishment with high praise.

“He has everything,” said the German. “He is fast, he is good one against one, he can score goals, he can find solutions in narrow spaces with not a lot of time.

“I am really happy to work with him. He is a good listener. I am not a big fan of statistics, but this statistic is very nice and I have to congratulate him.”
