fans were left in tears as one player on the quiz made history.
Host welcomed Val – the show’s oldest ever contestant – onto the programme in April 2023, who broke hearts in the audience with his sad admission.
Bradley quizzed Val: “If you win some money today, what are ya gonna do with it, mate?” and the player replied: “Well, I’ll be 95 next month, so I haven’t got much longer to live. So I expect it’ll go in the bank and, before I can spend it, I’ll die and the kids will have it.”
The rest of Val’s team looked devastated at his sad admission, but Bradley was deadpan as ever as he replied: “It’s quite a lovely, chirpy outlook on life you have, Val!”
Val insisted: “Yep! I’m quite happy, I’ve had a lovely life.”

Brad joked: “Better still, if we get five or six grand, we could afford the candle sticks, couldn’t we? You know, for the cake!” and Val fired back: “No, I was thinking of the grave.”
Val smashed his cash builder round, scooping £5,000 for himself and even making it through his head-to-head round. Along with two of his team members, Val faced down in the final chase – but was sadly beaten with 33 seconds left on her clock, after a grand score of 17 points.
