Patti LuPone Reveals Whether There Will Be A Second Season Of ‘Agatha All Along’

In the Disney+ series “Agatha All Along,” Patti LuPone guided us on a bewitching journey along the Witches’ Road, but it seems that will be our only trip through that particular supernatural realm. (Spoilers ahead!)

While chatting with Bravo’s Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM podcast “Andy Cohen Live,” LuPone revealed that the enchantment that once sparked our imaginations will not endure, and the series will not be returning to our screens for a Season 2.

“There won’t be one,” said LuPone, who played the eccentric Lilia Calderu in the series. “Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die.’ And I went, ‘But I wanted a second season.’”

The spell seems to have broken for Schaeffer, the creator of the series, whose reasoning for ending the show mirrors her decision with “WandaVision,” a 2021 smash hit for Marvel that also ended after just one season.

LuPone, a three-time Tony winner, explained that Schaeffer told her: “I don’t do second seasons.”

“She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of ‘WandaVision’ and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs,” LuPone said. “And I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again, because she’s magic.”

During a 2024 interview with Variety, LuPone was asked how much she knew about the Marvel Cinematic Universe before becoming a part of it ― to which she swiftly replied: “Still no.”

LuPone said she did watch “WandaVision” ― where Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, is introduced ― before taking her role in “Agatha All Along.” But LuPone admitted she had to watch “WandaVision” “three times” before “finally” making mystical sense of it all.
