host was left stunned after recognising a player on the latest episode of the ITV gameshow.

During Wednesday’s visit (January 29) to thestudios, the beloved gameshow host welcomed four new quizzers onto the show looking to put their general knowledge to the test.

The former star introduced contestants Rachel, Sian, Noel and Jon onto the programme where they prepared to battle it out and take home the all-important cash prize.

But as player Jon approached the podium for his cash builder round, Bradley did a double-take and told him his “face looks familiar”. In a surprising twist, player Jon revealed the pair had played in a charity football match together 20 years ago before recounting some of Brad’s less than sportsmanlike conduct during the match.

As the retail marketing consultant from Cheshire discussed his job and interests, Brad interrupted and said, ” For some peculiar reason, I do recognise your face. Why do I recognise your face?”

To which Jon explained: “We actually played against each other for a charity match you were playing for Rod Stewart’s all-stars. There were three games, one at Wembley, one in Wigan and one at Rod’s house.”

He went on to detail a funny moment that saw Brad furious with a decision during the match.

“The Wembley one was interesting because you broke through and had a shot – it was a screamer over the top of my head, I didn’t get to it, it hit the side of the bar, bounced down with spin, came back out to me and we played on and you were going absolutely mad.”

“Was I?,” Brad asked.

“You weren’t happy because the referee was saying play on, so I played on – you were saying ‘it was over the line’. I was saying it wasn’t. Brad I’ve got the tell you; 20 years ago – it wasn’t.”

“it wasn’t over the line” laughed Brad

“No it wasn’t,” Jon replied through cheeky laughter,

“Well its lovely to see you again,” quipped the host as they continued with the game.

The players were joined by chaser Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan who wasted no time getting in on the action, saying; “well you beat Brad at least!”

Jon successfully made it back to the team, as did Noel, with the pair banking £10k. But player Sian was no match for the chaser who was on top form and sent her packing.

Law student Rachel was up next and, despite only banking £2k in her cash builder round, decided to be brave and go for the top offer of £50k. But after getting the first two questions wrong she was quickly caught, leaving the team with just two players in the final chase.
