Nineties MTV mainstay Matt Pinfield has been placed under a temporary conservatorship after suffering a debilitating stroke earlier this month.

According to court documents filed by Pinfield’s daughter, Jessica Pinfield, and detailed by TMZ on Monday, the former radio host and onetime Columbia Records executive was left incapacitated by a Jan. 6 health emergency.

Jessica Pinfield requested the legal right to manage her father’s medical and fiscal affairs out of fear that his girlfriend plans to spend his money.

Pinfield was a fixture on MTV during the height of the network’s popularity, regularly appearing on “Total Request Live” and “MTV Live,” in addition to hosting the alternative music showcase, “120 Minutes,” and over 100 of the channel’s specials.

Following his time with MTV Pinfield returned to his radio roots, hosting shows for SiriusXM, LA-area FM station KLOS and Southern Californian public radio station KCSN.

The music insider struck a positive tone in an Instagram post made the day of his reported stroke, which showed the former MTV VJ sitting before a camera in a vinyl record-filled room.
