has been tipped for a “hugely flattering” meeting with following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States and a last year.

Several reports last year suggested that across the pond to “reinforce” the bond between the two countries, however, it remained unclear which member of the Firm would take the step.

But now royal expert Jennie Bond suggests that, health permitting, the monarch could travel to America.

Ms Bond said that a trip by Charles across the pond would be “hugely [flattering]” to Mr Trump, who was recently re-elected as the US President.

Mr Trump met with back in November, when they both visited Paris for the ceremonial reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral following a devastating fire in 2019.

The heir to the throne impressed the now-47th US-President, who made a gushing remark about meeting him.

Mr Trump told the New York Post: “I had a great talk with the prince.”

He also praised his looks, adding that he is “very handsome”.

He added: “He’s a good-looking guy. He looked really, very handsome last night. Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”

Commenting on their meeting, Ms Bond said: “William has already gone down well with the President, but Trump would probably now hope for a visit by the King.”

According to the outlet events, such the World Cup and the Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary of independence) in 2026, would provide a perfect opportunity for the King and Mr Trump to have their meeting.

Ms Bond said: “The decision will be up to the Foreign Office – and the King’s doctors – but the anniversary next year would be an obvious opportunity to deploy the Royal Family in cementing relations with the USA.”
