Ciara reacts to surprise message from husband Russell Wilson: ‘I am a better woman because of him’

Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, surprised her in the sweetest way possible.

On the Jan. 29 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends, Jenna Bush Hager showed the “Goodies” singer a sweet video message that Wilson had made for Ciara in honor of her co-hosting the program that day.

The NFL player began his message by sharing his appreciation for his wife.

“C, it’s Russ. Listen, I love you. We are so, so proud of you. All of the things you’ve done, all of the things you’re doing in your career,” he said. “I just remember the first time we ever met, we talked about our bucket list and all the different things we wanted to do and I just think about all of the things that we’ve accomplished so far, what we’re continuing to accomplish moving forward.”

He continued, “So a lot of that is just because of your visions and your ability to do so many things well. So I love you. I’m proud of you, and I’m so honored to be your husband, but also your best friend.”

Wilson concluded his sweet remarks by telling his Grammy-winning wife to “make sure that you make today really a special day.”

“Obviously, congrats on being the host for the TODAY show. All right, rock it, baby. I love you,” he added.

Ciara, who smiled through the entire video message, was then gifted with flowers that Wilson had sent.

“Aww, thank you, baby,” she said while holding the bouquet.

“You know, I’m trying to wonder, where was he at when he recorded that?” Ciara added with a laugh.

The “Body Party” singer then talked about her relationship with Wilson, whom she shares three kids — Sienna Princess, 7, Win Harrison, 4, Amora Princess, 1 — with and said he’s very supportive of her endeavors.

Ciara is also a mom to her 10-year-old son, Future Zahir, whom she welcomed during her previous relationship with rapper Future.

“I am a better woman because of him,” she said of Wilson. “That support is tremendous because sometimes you do feel like — I don’t want to say alone feelings, but when I go home, I know I’m not alone.”

Ciara noted that her husband’s “support” has been a foundational part of their relationship.

“And his belief and support from me just gives me an extra wind of support that even though I’m a tough independent woman, that support is critical,” she said.
