Chido Obi-Martin risks Arsenal wrath with reaction to Man Utd poaching another starlet

Chido Obi-Martin has publicly revelled in his former team-mate, Ayden Heaven, joining him in leaving the Hale End academy for . Heaven is set to relocate to Carrington after rejecting a professional contract at and opting for United over Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to , the 18-year-old is pencilled in for a medical before following Obi-Martin’s footsteps by switching the Emirates Stadium for Old Trafford.

United reportedly consider Heaven a first-team signing, providing Lisandro Martinez with competition and cover on the left side of ‘s back three.

The left-footed defender can operate at centre-back, left-back or central midfield, and his scholarship deal was due to expire in the summer.

United performed a similar heist of Obi-Martin, who was blazing headlines relentlessly in ‘s academy ranks with his goalscoring exploits.

The 17-year-old striker had scored 32 goals in just 18 Under-18 matches last season, and his rate of fire hasn’t slowed down since making the move up north.

Obi-Martin has netted nine times in seven U18 and FA Youth Cup games this term.

He is reportedly already occasionally training with Amorim’s senior squad as the Portuguese boss takes a closer look at the talent on his hands.

And Obi-Martin has added to the hype over the latest starlet walking away from the club to United, reacting to the deal on social media.

The Denmark youth international posted an image of himself celebrating with Heaven during an game on , captioning it: “Agent Obi.”

How often the pair will play alongside each other at the start of Heaven’s United career remains to be seen, given the plans to instantly instal him in the first team.

The teenager will likely primarily feature for the Under-21s this season, though, of which Obi Martin has already had a taste.

handed Heaven his senior debut in a 3-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final victory at Preston North End in October.

The towering England Under-19 star was also an unused substitute in two matches and a Champions League fixture.

After Heaven started against United during pre-season in Los Angeles last year, Arteta oozed praise for the youngster.

“I don’t know how many players are able to do that on a stage like this [at his age],” Arteta explained.

“He’s lost a duel against [], one of the strongest and fastest players in the world; it can happen.

“But the reaction afterwards, the composure, the quality, the body language that he had were all remarkable. I’m really happy with him.”
