A fourth added: “That’s my summer reading sorted. Thanks Carol, love your books!”

The Breakfast favourite is no stranger to writing novels having authored four previous books, including Once Upon a Time in Venice, The Hotel on Riveria, One Last Letter from Greece and Secret of the Villa Amore.

When given the opportunity to write professionally, Carol grabbed it, as she told The Sunday Post: “A couple of years ago I was approached by a publishing agent. It was not the first time but it was the right time.

He asked me if I would be interested in writing about myself, fiction or the weather. I thought I’d like to try my hand at fiction. Better to have tried and failed than not to have tried at all. And that’s how I got into it. I loved it. I’d forgotten the passion I had for it.”
