A video of speaking about the ‘s past brutal nickname has gone viral on .
The 43-year-old – who joined for a televised chat with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 – can be seen comparing her own treatment to that of Princess Kate in one segment from the bombshell chat.
In the video, which was shared by @princesscatherine.fp and has been viewed more than 470,000 times, Meghan speaks about Kate’s nickname of ‘Waity Katie’.
In the lead-up to the couple’s engagement in 2010, the name appeared to mock the length of time Kate had been waiting for to ask her to marry him.
Meghan told Oprah: “Kate was called Waity Katie, waiting to marry William. While I imagine that was really hard, and I do, I can’t picture what that felt like… this is not the same.”

Taking to the comment section, many fans came to Kate’s defence – highlighting the fact that she is now in line to become Queen one day.
One fan commented: “She was worth the wait and soon to become our future Queen [which is] a role she will honour.”
Speaking about the futre, another commented: “And she’ll be called Queen Catherine.”
At the end of the Oprah clip was not shown in the video, Meghan went on to say: “And if a member of his [Harry’s] family will comfortably say we’ve all had to deal with things that are rude. Rude and racist are not the same.”

After previously referring to herself as “one of the most bullied people in the world|”, one royal expert has compared that to of what was experienced by Kate during the earier days.
