UK storm maps turn pink as 6 inches of rain to batter Britain

January has smashed Britain with sub-zero temperatures, vicious storms, and layers of snow, and February doesn’t promise to be any better. 

According to online forecaster WX Charts, the UK could be drenched in rainy storms during the middle of next month.

On February 11 and February 12, Brits in western areas are predicted to get a deluge of rain, especially in Scotland.

The heaviest rain is expected to arrive early on February 12 near Glasgow, with six inches of rainfall forecast over the day.

Other areas that could see dramatic rainfall includes the Scottish Borders, which may see 3.5 inches of rain. 

The south-west of England and Wales may well be hammered with rain, too. Cardiff all the way up to Mid-Wales could see two inches of rain.

The West Country meanwhile may see over an inch and a half of rain. Eastern areas should remain much dryer.

This Evening and Tonight:

Low pressure dominates the weather across all the country overnight, bringing showers or longer spells of rain. The heaviest rain is likely across southern England and Wales. Windy for lots of Brits, though with gales slowly easing in the southwest. 

Tuesday:

Another day of sun, but showers is expected, the rain heaviest in southern areas and some thunder is possible. Local gales in the south and west, otherwise less blustery.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rain may hit southernmost parts of England on Wednesday. It will be brighter elsewhere with some showers. It will be mostly fine on Thursday, after some early frost. Rain moving southeast on Friday.
