Why we love it: It’s a fashion collaboration that may prompt some people to go, “Huh?”

Known for its rugged workwear boots and shoes that are often favoured by trades and construction workers, the collaboration sees the two companies lean in to the Red Wing Heritage Classic Moc, a lace-up boots style inspired by an original work boot from 1952.

But there’s a fashion spin, of course.

The smooth leather design, available in two hues called sienna red and natural beige, features the Fendi monogram on the sides using the fashion brand’s Selleria hand stitching technique. Completed by artisans in a factory in Tuscany, the intricate leather lacing is said to take five hours of work per pair of shoes. Meanwhile, the functionality of the workwear-inspired silhouette sees features such as a Goodyear-constructed sole with rubber traction maintained in the fashion-forward creation.

“The Red Wing boot, the sporty attitude worn with an evening dress, these shoes are made for walking,” Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of accessories and menswear at Fendi said in a news release. “They’re made for busy women.”

The price: $1,800.
