Nintendo Switch 2 fans urged to check their emails, as Nintendo breaks some hearts

will reportedly launch in either May or June, although we won’t for sure until after the next on April 2.

What we do know is that fans will be able to go hands-on with the console during special events taking place around the world during April and May. For UK fans, a Switch 2 Experience event be held from April 11 until April 13.

If you applied to go hands-on with the Switch 2 during one of the upcoming events, then you should check your emails now.

Nintendo has emailed fans with confirmation or rejection messages about the upcoming events.

Successful applicants have been given the good news, alongside confirmation about specific dates and times.

Unfortunately, however, Nintendo has also broken a few hearts, telling unsuccessful applicants that they didn’t win the drawing.

While it’s a blow to fans who received rejection messages, the rumours suggest that the console will launch shortly after.

This means you shouldn’t have to wait too long to get your hands on the device, even if you were unsuccessful.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is larger than the current model, featuring a bigger screen and JoyCons.

The JoyCons will reportedly utilise technology to eliminate stick drift, as well as magnets for connecting to the display.

Judging by the announcement trailer, the JoyCons can also be used like a mouse, meaning PC-style games should work better on the Switch 2.

The kickstand is also more flexible, giving users more viewing angles when playing in handheld mode.
