appears to have thrown her support behind her star Wynne Evans after he apologised for making an “inappropriate and unacceptable” during the launch show.

According to Mail on Sunday, the 52-year-old Welsh opera singer made a crude sexual comment about presenter and It Takes Two host Janette Manara when the nationwide tour opened in Birmingham on January 16.

The GoCompare star has since issued a statement about the remark over the weekend, which read: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

A spokesperson for the Strictly live tour and Studios added: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”

In the hours after Evans apologised for his comment, his professional dance partner Katya Jones appeared to show her support online as she returned to social media.

The 35-year-old took to to share a sweet snap of her dance partner and her co-stars and . The image, originally shares by Ghouri, was reposted by Jones with the supportive message: “Tour fam” alongside a heart emoji.

The comment has plunged the flagship channel into fresh controversy just months after Evans found himself in hot water on the live TV show back in October.

The radio host and his dance partner Katya Jones issued an apology online after a “joke” saw her move the singer’s hand from her waist during the show.

In another moment, the professional ballroom dancer refused to give a high-five to her celebrity dance partner, which they later referred to as “a running joke.”

Evans, who competed on the One dance show with Jones last year, is currently touring with the live show, but missed Saturday’s performance (January 25) in Glasgow due to an ankle injury.

It comes after the broadcaster announced that he will be “taking some time off” from his Wales radio show. A spokesperson for Wales confirmed: “Wynne is taking some time off from his show on Radio Wales. Robin Morgan will be presenting in his place.”

The comedian has been covering for Evans during his Strictly commitments on Monday (January 27) after his performance in Glasgow last night (January 26).

It comes after the MasterChef winner was forced to pull out of the dancing tour in Scotland on Saturday (January 25) due to an ankle injury.

Evans posted images of his injured ankle on , and in a video update added: “Ankle’s getting a bit better, it was great to be able to sing in Glasgow tonight, even if I couldn’t dance, hopefully back tomorrow.

“But watch this space, I’ll let you know in the morning. See how the swelling goes down, and all that kind of stuff, thanks for all the lovely messages, amazing.”
