Shocking moment foul-mouthed Jet2 passenger dragged off plane after ‘drunken rampage’

The alarming moment an airline passenger was hauled off a -bound plane after vocally threatening cabin crew and swearing at police has been captured on shocking bodycam footage.

Lewis Howarth, 36, was “highly intoxicated” and had been yelling profanities at staff before being dragged off the plane at Manchester Airport.

Flight attendants say the man had glugged down half a bottle of whisky before dishing out insults to the cabin crew.

Police bodycam footage shows unleashing a flurry of abuse even after he was restrained and removed from the plane.

He reportedly called one crew member a “d***head” when they asked them to put on their seatbelt.

Howarth can be seen putting up an aggressive struggle as he resisted the police’s efforts to restrain him.

Officers could be heard telling Howarth he was “bang out of order, there were so many kids on there.”

He replied: “My kids are there… you are f****** wrong.”

In an alarming outburst, he later added: “Nah f*** off you little rats. Do you [really think] I’m not going to go on holiday?”

It came after he initially appeared to be compliant when the police first approached, but later grew aggressive when officers tried to boot him off the plane.

Prosecutor Saul Brody told a court how he was “taken to the floor and handcuffed” while thrashing his head towards the passengers and officers.

Other flight attendees reportedly cheered and applauded as cops dragged off their fellow passenger.

Howarth was jailed after pleading guilty to entering an aircraft when drunk, assault on an emergency worker, and common assault of an emergency worker.

This adds to the list of his past criminal convictions.

Previous convictions include drunk and disorderly, affray, racially aggravated harassment, assaulting a police officer, and failing to comply with a court order.

William Staunton, his defence barrister, claimed his client was “peer pressured” into drinking booze as he felt nervous about flying.

He said: “He had the hangover of all hangovers… He is profoundly ashamed and deeply remorseful. He wants to say sorry and this won’t happen again.”
