Gritty crime drama Out There has left some fans dubbing the show “brutal” and complaining the “confusing” storylines are hard to follow.

The gory series follows Martin Clunes as Nathan Williams, a struggling Welsh farmer whose son, Johnny, becomes entangled in a dangerous drug ring.

Fans recently saw Johnny and Nathan attempting to dispose of a body after Johnny killed a drug dealer, Kenny, in a desperate act to protect Rhys’s sister Sadie from an assault.

Monday night’s episode of the gripping drama (January 27) delivered another nail-biting instalment as the stakes reached new heights.

The tension exploded when the police raided a nail salon suspected of housing a criminal drug operation after Kenny’s mysterious disappearance.

Dealer Khalad tipped off the feared drug kingpin Turuk, head of the entire police operation. Officers uncovered a large-scale drug enterprise above the salon, sparking a dramatic gunfight that left one police officer brutally hurled through a window, landing on a car and gravely injured.

Meanwhile, Rhys found himself embroiled in a shocking stabbing scene in broad daylight, which took place in public in front of several witnesses.

Back at Nathan’s farm, the drama continued as he was confronted by a prospective buyer who made a demeaning offer £500,000 below the farm’s true value. Tensions flared as the buyer issued veiled threats to Nathan.

As several dramatic storylines unfolded, viewers expressed their struggles to keep track of the fast-paced narrative. “There is too much going on and I’m so confused,” said one fan.

“anyone else really confused?” penned another, while a third added: “I’m lost.”

More chimed in, commenting on the sheer intensity of the scenes.

“Jeez…this is brutal…” one fan slammed. “is it just me or are there too many stabbing scenes in this show?” a second fan penned. “Is this just a poor Breaking Bad knock off?” asked a third.

The chaos erupted when single dad Nathan had enough of local dealer Rhys (Gerran Howell) manipulating his teenage son, Johnny. The trouble deepened after Johnny mistakenly thought the drugs he was holding for Rhys had been stolen, pulling him further into the dealer’s clutches.

Determined to stop it, Nathan confronted Rhys in a fiery exchange, offering £500 to clear Johnny’s supposed debt. But the situation took a shocking twist when it emerged Rhys had swapped the drugs for a rugby ball, using it as leverage to trap Johnny even further.

Furious at the deceit, Nathan took bold action, flushing Rhys’s real stash down the toilet. But Rhys wasn’t backing down. He swore revenge, escalating the situation by blackmailing Johnny into running drugs to pay off the debt for the destroyed stash.
