A heated debate on The Show took an explosive turn during a discussion about the trustworthiness of current US President .
The fiery exchange took place between political commentators Marina Purkiss and Albie Amankona.
Marina Purkiss did not hold back in her assessment of Trump, describing him as a “fruit loop” and asserting, “He will do whatever benefits him.”
Show host Jeremy Vine interjected, emphasizing Trump’s former position as the world’s most powerful leader, protesting, “We’ve got to, in some way, work with him.”
The debate escalated when Albie Amankona argued that trusting the American president is a necessity for maintaining the special relationship between the UK and the US.

Marina Purkiss hit back at a political opponent on the Jeremy Vine show
He challenged Purkiss, saying, “Essentially what Marina is saying is that we should ditch the special relationship—”
Purkiss immediately pushed back: “I did not say that. Please don’t put words in my mouth. Listen to my—”
Amankona interrupted, countering: “Otherwise what you’re saying is, the British prime minister cannot trust the American president, which would mean the end of the special relationship. So do you want to scrap the special relationship because you wish won?”
Visibly frustrated, Purkiss shot back: “No, and stop—you’re making really simple reductions there, so maybe grow up a little bit. No, I understand the role of diplomacy, I understand the game that needs to be played here.
“All I’m saying is, be very conscious of the fact that Trump is untrustable. He is a proven liar, and he is volatile.”

Albie Amankona interrupted Marina to share his perspective on Donald Trump
She continued: “This is a man who, at the moment, is threatening to invade Greenland, a territory that is occupied by a NATO country. This man is not to be trusted, Albie. I’m not saying we just go, no.”
Jeremy himself then joined the pile on, retorting: “We’ve got to be quite sophisticated about reading Trump, haven’t we. Okay. We know he’s not going to invade Greenland.
“Let’s not be silly about it. He’s trolling us to get us talking about it. He’s saying we may consider it. But he’s not going to, because they’ve already got the base there and it would be World War III or some weird version of it.
“So let’s read between the lines here. He’s not going to invade Greenland.”
Purkiss was quick to point out that what he said just reinforced her argument, adding: “So this is how trustworthy he is, that we can’t believe what he says. Well done, thank you Jeremy, case in point.”
The exchange became a viral moment after Purkiss tweeted about the debate. She wrote: “Hilarious exchange on Vine this morning… I get mocked for suggesting shouldn’t trust Trump… and moments later am told we need to not believe everything Trump says. Make your mind up, lads!”
Several viewers agreed that both men had been talking down to Marina, and condemned their behaviour. One exclaimed: “Wow! Who is that gobsh**e? Vine can f*** off as well. Telling you to ‘Let him finish’, when the p**** is twisting what you’ve said and putting words in your mouth. As ever, well done for standing your ground and, ultimately, making them all look foolish.”
Another added: “Brilliant Marina. Well done up against that Albie wally, he really was trying to put words in your mouth. Good for you.”
A third shared: “How you manage to stop yourself from screaming at them is amazing, I’d be having a meltdown dealing with that patronising attitude.”
