With a substantial budget in hand, they hunted for treasures that could turn a tidy profit. After picking up three items and leaving some cash for Tim’s bonus buy, it was time for the auction.

A nervous Lindsay admitted her fears before the results. When asked what she was most worried about, she replied: “The clown! I’ve had nightmares about the clown for various reasons.”

The pair had previously stumbled upon a quirky mechanical drumming clown, which they purchased for £98. At auction, their first two finds had already earned them a profit, but the clown was yet to face the hammer, reports

‘s Charlie Ross hinted at a potential victory, commenting: “Now, your big spend, the drummer, cost £98. Here it comes.”

Unfortunately, the lot opened at a disappointing £20, and despite a gradual increase in bids, it became evident that the clown was not a crowd-pleaser.

The atmosphere on Bargain Hunt was brimming with tension as Tim witnessed the lukewarm reaction from bidders as he commented: “Oh, we’re a long way off.”

But as the bids slowly climbed, Charlie tried to lift spirits by saying: “Getting better!” The auctioneer chimed in, assuring that the toy was functional, but his pitch failed to ignite interest and the piece was sold for just £50.

Off-camera, the team’s disappointment was palpable, with the host commenting: “Oh no! Oh, God.” The team were told they suffered a significant loss of £48, but Charlie reminded them of the upcoming bonus buy.

Their specialist chose a wooden crocodile figurine, hoping it would bring in some much-needed profit, yet it gained them a mere £1 gain.

Ultimately, the blue team faced a loss of £39, with the clown toy proving to be an unprofitable choice. When the teams regrouped, Charlie couldn’t help but remark on the thrill of a close contest, though joked this was far from the case with the blue team finishing behind and the reds pocketing a modest £25.

Addressing the blue contenders, the presenter reflected: “It started all right, didn’t it really? It started with that suitcase, which wasn’t too bad.

Despite their defeat, the engaged couple told Charlie that they thoroughly enjoyed their time on the show, while the red team celebrated their victory announcement.
