A beautiful country known for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes has overtaken Egypt named as Africa’s top tourist destination

This is according to the analysis of the figures published by the Ecofin information agency.

Until now, Egypt, which was the main tourist destination in Africa, had registered nearly 15.7 million at the end of 2024.

At the same time, according to official figures, at the end of November 2024, Morocco had registered nearly 15.9 million tourists, which places Morocco ahead of Egypt in terms of foreign visitors received.

The country has been witnessing a huge rise in the number of tourists. In the first seven months of 2024, Morocco welcomed a record 10 million tourists, marking a 15 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

This data was released in September 2024 by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most popular tourist destinations and is the southernmost of the country’s major cities.

Don’t miss… [REVEAL] [SPOTLIGHT]

Its most iconic feature is the Fez-el-Bali medina, a vast medieval neighborhood dating back to the 9th century.

With a labyrinth of 9,000 streets, getting lost is an inevitable part of exploring this area, which is considered the largest pedestrian zone in the world.

One cannot not miss the capital as well. Rabat combines antiquity and modernity. Its main monument is the Hassan Tower, a 12th century minaret that was destined to be the tallest tower.

Tangier, the deserts of Zagora and Merzouga, the Ouzoud waterfalls, or the Todra and Dadès gorges are other wonders that you cannot miss if you decide to travel to Morocco in 2025, which we have just started.
