Man Utd star Amad saw his 94th-minute goal disallowed by VAR
The have released a statement to explain why VAR disallowed late goal against Fulham on Sunday.
Amad Diallo thought he scored in the 94th minute to seal the points for ‘s side as they led 1-0 thanks to Lisandro Martinez’s deflected effort.
The Ivorian played a delicious one-two with Joshua Zirkzee before firing underneath Bernd Leno with a low strike in stoppage time.
However, VAR official Jarred Gillett and assistant VAR Darren Cann reviewed the goal at Stockley Park after spotting an incident in the build-up.
The goal was subsequently ruled out by match referee Anthony Taylor, before United managed to hold on to secure a vital three points at Craven Cottage.
And the have clarified that Amad’s goal was chalked off due to offside against the 23-year-old, with replays showing his shoulder was slightly ahead of Timothy Castagne.
Posting via their official Match Centre account on X (formerly Twitter), it read: “Amad’s goal was initially awarded on-field. VAR checked and established that Amad was in an offside position in the build-up and recommended that the goal was disallowed.
Amorim did not address the disallowed goal in his post-match interview, and instead focused on reflecting on his team’s performance in west London.

After seeing Amad’s late goal cancelled and Toby Collyer making a goal-line clearance, Amorim declared himself pleased with his side’s resilience to secure only their third away win of the season.
“It’s really important to have this feeling away from home. Great support from our away fans. Not a great game and no great chances,” the Portuguese told TNT Sports.
“We tried to play our game, but we need to improve a lot. We hold the result in the end, and we closed the game – it is really important to win now.”
On the clean sheet, he added: “Really important because clearly you are closer to winning games, and it gives you confidence. We didn’t suffer too much today and that is a good sign. We scored, and we move onto the next game.”

While Amad was denied his 10th goal of the season, failed to add to his two goals and Joshua Zirkzee offered little in his cameo from the bench.
Amorim, who turns 40 tomorrow, was under no illusions where his side need to improve, adding: “Even in the second half we changed things and we lack some pace and power in front, but it is what it is.
“We need to have more ball to have more chances. We struggle a lot in these details. Winning helps us a lot to improve.”
United next embark upon a trip to Romania to face FCSB in the Europa League on Thursday before hosting Crystal Palace on Old Trafford on February 1.
