Netflix Virgin River fans call out ‘completely ridiculous’ plot hole in season 6 finale

Virgin River fans have been debating a pivotal moment in the last episode of season six which could leave a major character completely penniless.

Throughout the latest season of the hit series, fan-favourite Dan Brady (played by Benjamin Hollingsworth) has been seeing Lark (Elise Gatien), unaware that she’s been running a scam with local criminal Jimmy (Ian Tracey).

However, Lark eventually catches real feelings for Brady – or so she claims – and promises to drop the scheme when he interrogates her. That is, until she overhears a revealing conversation between Brady and his ex Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen).

Despite them both dating new people – with Brie’s new beau Mike (Marco Grazzini) even popping the question in the finale – they gave in to temptation and slept together earlier in the season then confessed their love for each other at Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) wedding.

After that bombshell, Lark decides to leave Brady in the lurch, draining his entire bank account in the process. But does this move actually make sense?

One viewer took to to expose some glaring flaws in Lark’s last-ditch effort to get back at her philandering boyfriend.

“In the last episode, Lark steals all of Brady’s money. It’s completely ridiculous the way they portray it,” they claimed.

The Virgin River fan went on to point out: “Bank apps always require you to authenticate, usually with something like FaceID, which Lark wouldn’t have.

“Even if Brady’s bank and/or phone had terrible security, bank transfers take days to complete. Just call the bank and say it was a fraudulent transfer. It was the weekend; nothing is happening until Monday anyway.

“Let’s say she wanted to do a wire transfer. Has anyone tried to do that?

“If you’re a regular person, then wire transfers are an absolute pain and take a bunch of upfront work. And even wire transfers take time to complete.”

They finally insisted: “If Brady had a pile of cash or BitCoin or something, it would have been possible. You can’t just clean someone out electronically instantly in real life.”

Virgin River ostensibly takes place in the grounded real world, despite its whirlwind of drama, crime and betrayals all happening within the space of about a year.

However, other fans agreed that Lark hacking into Brady’s account and stealing literally his entire savings within a matter of minutes stretches their suspension of disbelief beyond breaking point.

“And you cannot make a bank transfer of all the money of the account,” someone else pointed out with a rolling-eyes emoji. “The amount is always limited.”

Though another fan replied: “Yea I was willing to look past it. Maybe she saw his passcode or maybe he’s sent her money. Idk. I just really hate Lark so I’m trying to justify it.”

The series could offer a better explanation when it returns for its seventh season but, for now, Virgin River fans have been left scratching their heads.
