In the video, Jonny recommends used performance car buyers look at the BMW 335i
A has shared how drivers can get behind the wheel of an underappreciated German performance car that offers luxurious features for under £5,000.
Jonny Brighton runs the YouTube channel , regularly creating videos in which he discusses the best sportscars and to buy without breaking the bank.
In , Jonny discusses a wide range of that , including the E90-era of the 335i, which was offered in a considerable range of body styles.
He explained: “I’m specifically talking about the 335i from the E90 generation in saloon, coupe, and convertible spec which are the specs you’d typically find within our price range. They came in two basic trim levels from BMW – SE or M-Sport.
“They’re both basically the same except the M-Sport looks a bit cooler so why not go that way? I generally think the E92 coupe and E93 convertible examples are two of the best looking non-modern BMWs.”

The 335i was available as a coupe or convertible and used a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine
Produced between 2005 and 2011, the E90 BMW 3-Series offered a particularly sharp appearance for the time and a wide range of engine options, with Jonny recommending the sporty 335i in particular.
Available with two trim levels, the 335i came equipped with a wide range of standard features, including a satnav, front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Whilst buyers can get behind the wheel of a BMW 335i for around £2,000, with a £5,000 budget enough for a particularly clean example with a low mileage.

Whilst it is hardly a practical family car, the 335i also features plenty of standard equipment
Jonny recommended that one of the best features about the 335i is its engine, which is particularly quick off the mark and can easily be enhanced.
He added: “Both of the cars are worth it for the looks, but it gets even better with performance. The 335i comes with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder block, making 301bhp, and taking it to 60mph in 5.3 seconds which is not bad at all.
“They’re also highly tunable and can seriously trouble more powerful cars without having to spend too much money. I do genuinely think this is the best value for money BMW for under £5,000.”
Nevertheless, when buying a BMW 335i, Jonny recommended that drivers should make sure that all recalls made by the company were completed to prevent expensive repair bills.
He advised: “Early doors, these were riddled with issues, starting again with the high-pressure fuel pump, the turbos, the fuel injectors, ignition coils, waste gates, and a whole bunch of other issues.
“By now they should have been through most of the more aggressive issues, and ideally you’d like to see some stronger parts being put onto them, but some issues are just part and parcel with that engine to add insult to injury.”
