The winter and spring bulbs ‘in the green’ arrive with roots and green shoots already in place
I love planting bulbs ‘in the green’. The winter and spring bulbs ‘in the green’ arrive with roots and green shoots already in place, meaning we should them immediately into our pots, beds and borders so their roots can reengage with moisture and flower this very winter and spring season.
The bulbs ‘in the green’ I enjoy planting are Snowdrops, Bluebells, Winter Aconites, Wood Anemone, Tenby Daffodil, Wild Daffodil, Grape Hyacinth and Crocuses.
This wonderful variety gives us a delicate display of hardy little before springtime is in full swing.
These little bulbs are ideal for growing in pots, beds and borders, preferably in a spot which benefits from winter sunshine.
The bulbs will multiply and spread over time, so a patch of bulbs will grow and give more flowers year after year.

If flower displays become too big, then you can gently lift the bulbs with a hand trowel and divide them once the flowers have died back but before the green foliage dies back.
Then, find homes for them, ideally near trees and shrubs or tucked into your beds and borders.
They’ll be sure to bring a smile to our faces.
