The Duchess of Sussex has been caught in a media storm yet again in the past few weeks, with the latest example being a scathing report published by US magazine Vanity Fair, which included regarding her behaviour towards staff.
The outlet claimed that a former Spotify colleague had to take a “leave of absence after working on three episodes” and alleged that “several others” said that they had to take “breaks from work to escape scrutiny”, leave their job altogether or undergo “long-term therapy” after working with Meghan.
It also cited producer Jane Marie, who, contrary to the allegations, said Meghan is a “lovely, genuine person”. The Sussex couple declined to comment on the latest claims, but sources close to them told the they find the latest allegations “distressing”.
Now a PR expert has weighed in on whether the latest accusations against the duchess will have any impact on her brand and new show, With Love, Meghan, which is due to be released on March 4.

Renae Smith, founder and director of , claimed that the latest negative press would only help “insulate” Meghan’s brand, which will, in turn, “strengthen” the bond with her fans.
She told Express.co.uk: “From a PR standpoint, this Vanity Fair piece isn’t particularly groundbreaking; it echoes past allegations about Meghan’s alleged treatment of staff.
“The timing, coinciding with her show launch, is notable but not surprising.
“Polarising figures like Meghan tend to attract both fervent supporters and critics, and this dichotomy has only deepened over time.”
She added: “Her audience, made up of those who admire her aspirational lifestyle, independence, and narrative of resilience, is unlikely to be swayed by negative press. In fact, they often respond by doubling down on their support.

The Duchess of Sussex is faced with fresh allegations against her
“The show, which plays directly to this demographic, will likely resonate strongly with her core base, who will defend her aggressively regardless of external criticism.
“The PR reality—insane but true—is that once someone reaches this level of polarisation, their brand actually becomes insulated. Criticism may make headlines, but it rarely shifts perceptions within their established audience.”
The expert went on to explain how “polarising figures” like , , Andrew Tate and Kim Kardashian can do “insane things”, but their supporters remain “fiercely loyal”.
She said: “Criticism becomes fuel for their narratives, and their audiences see it as proof that they’re ‘doing something right’.
“Meghan is no different—her polarisation creates a shield that strengthens her bond with her fans, regardless of the media cycle.”
The latest claims follow bullying allegations which were made against the Duchess back in 2018, which she has long and vehemently denied.
