King Charles’s furious eight-word rebuke after spotting photographer near his private home

made a furious eight-word rebuke after spotting a photographer near his private home, Highgrove House.

Speaking of the King’s fiery personality, The Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards recalled one time that he encountered the 76-year-old on a walk through the Gloucestershire countryside.

According to an article by , Mr Edwards said: “I discovered there was a public footpath running across the bottom of his land and I’m walking along this footpath, camera over my shoulder when Prince Charles comes up on his horse.”

He recalls the King saying to him, “What are you doing on my land?”, to which, he replied, “It’s not your land, I’m on a public footpath”.

He shares how the King wasn’t happy with his cheeky response, to which the monarch then replied in a curt eight words: “It’s for walking on, not for taking pictures.”

Since the encounter, which took place in the early 1980s, Mr Edwards – who, at 84, is still working as a royal photographer – said that he now shares a personal bond with the King.

Speaking of the monarch, he said: “I started off thinking I didn’t care what happened it was all about getting the shot. I wouldn’t dream of doing that now,. I respect him too much. Not only have I changed in my attitude to him, I’ve changed the attitude of the paper to him.”

King Charles recently shared on the offices account for his beloved residence. In on picture, complete with a whimsical arched doorway which is reminiscent of a fairytale, the pathway can be seen lined with trimmed hedges and blooming shrubs.

Sparking a reaction from delighted fans, the caption – alongside the pictures – read, “Today is the first official day of winter, and there’s no better way to embrace the new season than with a snowy view of the gardens.”
