The Masked Singer fans are certain they’ve figured out who’s behind Pufferfish’s disguise.
The popular ITV show made a return this month, showcasing a new slew of celebrities disguised in extravagant and whimsical ensembles.
This season’s concealed stars include Bush, Dressed Crab, Bear, Kingfisher, Pegasus, Pufferfish, Snail, Spag Bol, Tattoo, Teeth, Toad In The Hole, and Wolf. Davina McCall, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, and Jonathan Ross will be scrutinising their every move as judges – all under the watchful eye of host Joel Dommett.
Thus far, the grand reveals have seen Toad In The Hole unmasked as Macy Gray, Pegasus as Prue Leith, Spag Bol as Kate Garraway, and most recently, Tattoo revealed to be Carol Decker.
But the buzz now is all about Pufferfish’s ‘true’ identity, as fans suspect it’s a beloved icon. Twitter, now X, has been rife with speculation, pointing towards Shona McGarty, known for her portrayal of Whitney Dean from 2008 to 2024 on the One soap, reports .

Meanwhile, some viewers are suggesting Jacqueline Jossa, famed for playing Lauren Branning on-off since 2010 on the same soap.
Social media saw comments flying with: “I reckon Pufferfish is Shona McGarty from . #TheMaskedSinger”, “Going Whitney from as Pufferfish #themaskedsingeruk #TheMaskedSinger”, and “Whitney Dean From #maskedsingeruk #maskedsinger”, while another fan confidently stated: “I reckon Pufferfish is Shona McGarty from #TheMaskedSinger.”
Elsewhere, one viewer suggested: “I think Pufferfish is Jacqueline Jossa #TheMaskedSinger”, while another insisted: “Think pufferfish might be Jacqueline Jossa #TheMaskedSinger” and a third claimed: “WAIT! Pufferfish could be Jacqueline Jossa! ! #TheMaskedSinger.”

Away from , some viewers also think Pufferfish could be Girls Aloud legend Nadine Coyle, which would follow in the footsteps of her bandmate Nicola Roberts who won the first series of The Masked Singer in 2020 as Queen Bee. Meanwhile, fellow bandmate Kimberly Walsh was unveiled as Odd Socks on spin-off The Masked Dancer in 2022.
One person said: “Pufferfish – nadine girls aloud ? #TheMaskedSinger”, a different account wrote: “Nadine Coyle as Pufferfish #themaskedsinger” while another added: “Pufferfish could be Nadine Coyle #TheMaskedSinger.”
On Saturday night’s episode, which aired on 25 January, Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, Teeth and Wolf battled it out on stage.
