Europe’s best country for skiing that gets an incredible 258cm of snow each year

According to an ESF guide, an estimated 1.5 million Brits embark on a each year.

This includes 81% of ski vacationers in the UK embarking on a skiing holiday in the last season.

When it comes to the ultimate ski spot in one country has been hailed the best thanks to having more snowfall than any other region on the continent.

SuomiCasino, the Finnish gaming experts, revealed their top skiing country is .

Switzerland is known as being the “land of four thousand metre peaks”, attracting a host of avid skiers thanks to its breathtaking pistes and picture-perfect mountain views.

Being the 2025 number one ski getaway, Switzerland has it all including its dramatic scenery, quaint ski villages and large array of ski resorts which are scattered across this stunning land.

For this, and many other reasons, locals and tourists flock to Switzerland’s numerous ski resorts which dot the country’s mountains.

Skiing is an integral part of Swiss culture and according to OnTheSnow data, this European country has an impressive 258cm of annual snowfall.

This equates to roughly 8.5 feet of snow each year owing to its label as being one of the major ski capitals of the world.

This is compared to other popular ski spots such as France and Austria with 238cm and 201cm respectively.

When it comes to the best places for skiing within Switzerland, Myswitzerland found Arosa Lenzerheide, Zermatt and Davos Klosters all offering the best setting and snow conditions.

The high altitude and great abundance of glaciers in Switzerland are known to provide the best conditions for skiing with the region being home to around 352 ski resorts.

When it comes to the largest ski resort in Switzerland, Les Portes du Soleil is number one boasting of a staggering 360 miles of slopes.

Experts advise going to Switzerland from December to March as this is the best time with the most ideal conditions being between January and early March.
