Mike stressed that walking in with confidence and admitting to a dealer that a sale could be struck will usually lead to a better negotiation.

, Mike previously said: “Just be honest with the dealer. Let the dealer know you’re willing to do a deal and that you will buy a car today.
“What do they need to do to make sure you do buy a car today? Dealers don’t want to hear that you’re just shopping around and you’re just looking.
“Go into a dealer, be confident, have some knowledge about what you’re doing and then say to that dealer, ‘look if you can make this work I’ll buy a car from you today’.”
stressed that researching before walking into a dealer will work in the buyer’s favour, who can go into a negotiation armed with tools to succeed.

“You should take into account service history, condition and mileage, though, as these affect a vehicle’s value.”
Mike doubled down on the tip, admitting that research was crucial ahead of walking into a dealership in the first place.
He added: “I’ve always said it’s very important to fill your library before you fill your garage.
“Doing research is really important, find out what car you want, find out all the information about the car and find out the prices for those cars in your area.”
