have issued red, amber and yellow for region’s across the UK, with millions of Britons on alert.

, red “danger to life” warnings have been issued for central and southwestern areas of Scotland and for Northern Ireland.

Storm Eowyn is set to inflict fierce winds of up to 90mph, bringing with it wider amber and yellow warnings for snow, wind and rain across the country.

The forecaster has warned this storm will bring with it heavy downpours, with conditions likely to spread northeast to the rest of the UK.

Households are being urged to be on the lookout and for anyone with sheds and in their gardens to be extra vigilant today.

The sudden and drastic weather change blown in is thanks to Storm Eowyn, causing garden furniture and even sheds to be privy to these harsh conditions.

For those who do have furniture and sheds in their gardens, these blustery conditions could cause havoc.

The advises to secure loose items in your garden, such as bins, plant pots, garden furniture and trampolines, including turning trampolines upside down.

It adds that garden furniture must not be left in your garden and instead should be brought inside or “secured in place”, presumably tied down or covered up with heavy objects on top to stop it from moving.

This advice extends to rattan furniture sofas, benches, tables and chairs as well as garden ornaments.

Any households in Storm Eowyn’s path have also been advised to lock shed doors and garage doors to prevent anything blowing out.

The , alongside its amber warnings, says: “Prepare to protect your property and people from injury.

“Check for loose items outside your home and plan how you could secure them. Items include; bins, garden furniture, trampolines, tents, sheds, and fences.

The forecaster added: “There is a chance that damage to buildings and homes could occur, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down.

“Injuries and danger to life could occur from flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.”

The further warned of potential power cuts which could affect other services including phone coverage.

“Road, rail, air and ferry services are likely to be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible with some roads and bridges closing.”
