Drivers considering 10 popular family cars have been urged to to save tens of thousands of pounds compared to the retail price.
With prices on the used car market continuing to fall, now is one of the best times to buy a that still offers the same that it did when it came out of the factory.
According to the used vehicle retail platform , the best value used car to buy in January 2025 is the , the Czech company’s first .
Introduced in early 2021, the Enyaq is available as a or a sporty coupe SUV, giving buyers the choice of various battery packs and electric motors, with the most powerful able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds.
However, whilst the average price of a used Skoda Enyaq was a hefty £36,840 in December 2023, the EV’s value has dropped by a staggering 36.5 percent in 12 months. As a result, drivers today can pick up a pre-owned Enyaq for an around £23,400.

Another model that has rapidly declined in price on the used market but still offers a significant amount of space and features is the MG5.
Despite not being the most popular choice in the UK, the 5 is a practical estate car, offering 464 litres with all five seats in place and a whopping 1,456 litres with the rear bench folded.
According to CarGurus, the average price of a used MG5 has fallen by 34.3 percent, meaning used car buyers today can get behind the wheel of one for a typical price of £14,060.

Finally, motorists looking to impress the neighbour with a premium SUV with green credentials and plenty of standard equipment can also buy a used Volkswagen ID.4 for a surprisingly low price.
Using the same platform as the Skoda Enyaq, the ID.4 is quick off the mark and can cover a practical range of up to 328 miles per charge if the driver chooses the 77kWh battery pack.
Today, the average price of a used Volkswagen ID.4 stands at £23,609, making it just £200 more than the Skoda and 33.9 percent less than its typical value in December 2023.
