and are set to go head-to-head next week in the newly formed TMRW Golf League (TGL).

The golfing giants celebrated the launch of their latest venture earlier this month, with the first season commencing on January 7 when The Bay Golf Club triumphed over New York Golf Club at the specially designed SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Scheduled on weeknights to coincide with the PGA Tour timetable, two more matches have since taken place, including a game featuring Woods’ team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, who suffered a crushing 12-1 defeat to Los Angeles Golf Club.

Now, it’s McIlroy’s turn to take centre stage, and what better way than facing off against co-founder Woods on Monday night (11.30pm UK time) when Boston Common Golf takes on Jupiter Links.

Each of the six teams competing in the TGL consists of four members, though only three can play at any given time. It has now been confirmed that both Woods and McIlroy will be playing for their teams in the upcoming match.

Joining McIlroy for Boston Common Golf are American golfer Keegan Bradley and Australian star Adam Scott. Together, they aim to overcome a Jupiter Links lineup that includes Woods, fellow American Kevin Kisner, and South Korean player Tom Kim.

The upcoming showdown between golf titans Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods is set to be a major draw, as they both bet on their head-to-head battle in the TGL to grip audiences and spike viewing figures.

The inaugural event of this fresh-out-of-the-tee venture saw over 900,000 viewers tuning in, with Woods’ entry the following week pulling in an impressive audience of more than a million fans.

Despite a fall in viewership last week to 680,000, anticipation is high that numbers will surge once again, potentially doubling, with industry co-founders McIlroy and Woods front and centre.

Describing the indoor event as a radical new version of golf, McIlroy believes TGL will bring the sport “into the 21st century”.

A staggering $21million prize pool is up for grabs, with a hefty $9m going to the victors.
