Southport attack was not an act of terrorism: Met Police chief Mark Rowley

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley has said the Southport massacre that left three little girls dead and several others injured was not an act of terrorism. 

Mr Rowley described the Southport attack as “horrific” and said listening to the remarks at sentencing and the experiences of the families is “moving for all of us”.

When asked to clarify whether the stabbing attack was an act of terrorism, he said: “Not on the law as it is today, no.”

He added: ” That’s what police decided, CPS decided.”
