Fans of were fuming today (January 24) as a weather reporter ignored important advice and put himself in danger to show just how heavy the wind was. There are a number of ‘danger to life’ weather warnings in place around the UK today as strong gales batter the nation as arrives.
In the studio, explained: “Millions of people are being urged to stay at home today as Storm Eowyn hits the UK, bringing potentially life threatening winds with it.”
She explained that it will cause disruption across the country including school closures and power cuts before Adil Ray added: “It could be the biggest storm we have seen for a century.” He also shared that winds could reach speeds of up to 100mph with a “serious risk to life”.
They then cut to correspondent Nick Dixon, who was in largs on the Scottish coast. He had a blue jacket on with the hood up and was being ferociously blown around by the wind.
Kate seemed shock as she said: “Goodness me, we almost don’t need to speak to you because we can see how much you’re under pressure from those winds. And the red warning doesn’t even arrive until 10am, does it.”
The reporter was wind swept
Clearly concerned about her colleague, she then questioned: “Are you ok?” Nick replied: “Yeah, I’m ok. We’re relatively safe here and I could do with a coffee right now but the conditions have really intensified in the last hour.”
But as he was speaking, gusts of wind could be heard as he struggled to stand in one spot due to the force of the gusts.
Fans at home were raging over the reporter being sent to a dangerous location. Taking to X/Twitter, they shared their complaints.
One wrote: “The advice is ‘stay indoors’ ‘stay away from waters’ ‘do not travel’ – serious risk to life and that’s why we sent our best people out to report from the worst and most dangerous areas around the country #GMB #StormÉowyn.”

Nick was battered by winds live on air
Another echoed: “Danger to life warning and #gmb throw numerous reporters out into #StormÉowyn to get the best shots, where is the fecking logic in that, unbelieveable.”
“One thing I’ll never understand is why news channels send their reporters to dangerous weather locations to show us what the weather is like #GMB,” a third penned while one more said: “Red weather warning(danger to life) & #GMB has Nick encouraging people to heid the warnings & stay inside, all whilst standing outside getting thrown about by said wind & rain.
“Surely there is no need for him to be outside reporting? We know what windy weather looks like. #Eowyn.”
