In the video, Jim urged new car buyers to follow one tip to help them save a fortune
A has shared how Brits can buy their next model for , despite still being brand new.
The has increased dramatically in the past few years, with UK drivers paying an average of over £40,000 for their next model.
However, to his YouTube channel , Jim Starling highlighted that many dealers are promoting particularly attractive deals on new models to boost sales, including more than £10,600 off the cost of a new .
He explained: “The Mazda MX-30, it’s got nearly £11,000 off [the retail price] for one of these – well, £10,670 actually. It should be £28,665, but it’s down to £18,000.
“It’s a and quite limited with the range – only 124 miles of range. But, it’s an interesting little car and you could do a lot worse. It’s got these pillarless rear doors – sure, you have to open a front door to open a back door, which is a little bit of a faff – but it’s quite cool!”

One dealership was offering new Mazda MX-30 electric crossovers for just £18,000
While all cars are given a recommended retail price by their manufacturer, many dealerships like to attract customers by offering deals on new vehicles, particularly models that are not the strongest sellers.
These vehicles could be fresh stock, previously registered cars (meaning they have a number plate but have never been sold), or ex-demonstrators used by customers within the showroom or on test drives.
Drivers can typically find these discount prices on vehicle retail platforms such as Auto Trader, Carwow, and cinch, and can pay even less by politely yet confidently haggling with the dealer.

Models being discontinued, like the MG5, are much more likely to be sold at attractive prices
Jim also urged drivers to look at models that are being discontinued, with most dealers looking to get rid of remaining stock at particularly low prices.
He added: “The MG5. Right, this must be one of the last in the country as the MG5 is actually being discontinued, but I’ve always thought of it as one of MG’s best models, if not the best. It’s not the most exciting car to look at, but it’s really good to drive, practical, and just makes a tonne of sense.
“Even at the full price of £31,000 it seems decent value for a fully-electric estate car with 250 miles of range, but this dealer is getting rid of them at £19,990 at the moment, and that is an absolute bargain. It really is a great deal, especially for a car with a seven-year warranty.”
Finally, the YouTuber highlighted that drivers can often get the biggest discounts with a luxury model, highlighting one dealer offering a BMW 7-Series for more than £30,000 off its list price.
He continued: “We’ve got another car here, a BMW 7-Series. This car should be £130,000 and they’ve knocked over £30,000 off it. It’s really well-equipped.
“It’s got the theatre screen on it, so it’s like a 30-inch TV that pops down from the roof and you can sit in the back and literally watch – it’s an amazing piece of kit.”
