‘I won The Traitors – the final week in the castle will include a two-hour roundtable’

Hit BBC show is about to climax to a dramatic conclusion, as the final players battle it out to banish the remaining Traitor contestants and attempt to win the prize money.

Season one contestant Meryl Williams stormed her way to victory with the support of fellow faithfuls Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski.

Speaking exclusively to Express Online via , she shared her insider insights on the intense final round table, which she thinks will last two hours.

While touching on her final week experience, Meryl disclosed: “It just all becomes more real. Like the money was something that always felt unachievable and out of reach, but as we approached the final week we were like ‘right we could actually do this you know!’

“So then we all started pushing even more, trying even harder in the missions to bring up the prize pot and clock onto anything and everything that potential traitors were giving away as clues.”

She also explained the roundtable: “It takes a couple of hours. We moved around quite a bit as well. So, part of it was recorded inside, and then we had to go outside and back in again. Also, we had to wait until it was dark. All of the outdoor scenes didn’t happen until 11/12 pm. It just doesn’t get dark in Scotland in the summer!”

It is up to the Traitors to kill off a faithful each day without causing suspicion within the group. Each day, the cast completes a series of challenges with a chance to win an immunity shield to avoid being murdered by the Traitors that evening.

Later in the day, the group congregates around the round table and votes off one contestant who they suspect to be a Traitor, each sharing their theories on why.

Regardless of their role, the eliminated contestant is then forced to reveal if they are a Traitor or a Faithful to the cast before leaving the castle for good.

Then, in the early hours of the night, the Traitors meet in the clock tower to concoct their game plan and plot over which contestant they should murder next.

If any Traitors are left by the end of the series, they walk away with the entire cash prize. However, if all the Traitors are caught by the Faithfuls, the money is then split evenly among the remaining players.

The Traitors can be streamed on iPlayer.
