isn’t concerned about emotional antics after 3-1 defeat against last weekend, according to reports. The Portuguese head coach unleashed his fury onto his underperforming players after a third consecutive loss to the Seagulls at Old Trafford.

Goals from Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter handed Amorim his seventh defeat in 15 games since replacing in November.

After full-time, the enraged 39-year-old abandoned his usual routine of saving his post-match rundown until the following morning and exploded in the hosts’ dressing room.

Amorim reportedly damaged a big-screen TV that he usually uses to go through tactics during his fit of rage as he physically expressed his frustration with his players’ level of performance.

Moments later, in his post-match press conference, the former Sporting boss raised eyebrows by describing his side as “maybe the worst in the club’s history.”

The fact that United are 13th in the with 26 points and a -5 goal difference after 22 games suggests that he could well be correct.

However, his public honestly sparked questions about whether that was beneficial or detrimental to his already low-on-confidence squad.

The subsequent news of his dressing room blast further fuelled scepticism about how Amorim was handling the unmatched pressure of the Old Trafford hot seat.

But, according to , United co-owner Ratcliffe doesn’t believe his actions will risk losing some of his players’ faith and negatively impact form in the future.

It’s claimed that the INEOS kingpin wants the squad to understand Amorim’s passion and desire to win and overturn the club’s dire fortunes of late.

Ratcliffe is also said to be convinced that his emotional spat will soon be forgotten, especially if results begin to improve.

Amorim owned up to his behaviour ahead of Thursday’s Europa League victory against Rangers, insisting his criticism was primarily aimed at himself rather than his players.

“I didn’t think, and I am a young guy; sometimes I make a mistake. That’s why I do not talk after the game,” Amorim explained.

“This game, I needed to talk, and maybe it was a mistake, and I get more nervous and go to the press conference really nervous, and you say things you shouldn’t say.

“That is it, and sometimes you are a young guy who makes mistakes, but you improve. I do not promise you I won’t do it again… I do not know! I will try to improve.”

United have all but guaranteed a last-16 spot in the Europa League after their late triumph over a weakened Rangers side.

Amorim’s complete focus will now be on the latest trip to London to face Fulham on Sunday night. Another defeat could leave the Red Devils 10 points off the top half of the table.
