Homebase has relaunched its new-look website ahead of the this month.

The DIY and garden retailer last November, citing weaker consumer confidence and spending post-pandemic, and the , as the reasons for its losses.

Homebase chief executive Damian McGloughlin said the past three years had been “incredibly challenging” and efforts to rescue its trading performance had not been successful.

The retailer made the “difficult decision” to appoint administrators towards the end of 2024, with the collapse coming amid reports that banking giant Wells Fargo had opted not to extend its lending facility due to financial concerns.

The chain later struck a deal with retail group CDS Superstores – which owns The Range – for up to 70 of its stores, helping to save around 1,600 jobs.

B&Q also agreed to take control of five branches as part of the deal earlier this month, taking over sites in Altrincham in Greater Manchester, Basingstoke in Hampshire, Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, and Worcester in Worcestershire.

These stores are expected to be converted into B&Q sites in the spring, but the future of around 49 Homebase stores still remains undecided.

New owners CDS have now set its brand new website live ahead of the closure of 13 stores this month, welcoming customers to “the new chapter” with a huge 40% off sale.

In an update to customers on its Facebook page, Homebase said: “Homebase.co.uk is NOW LIVE. Explore 1000’s of home improvement essentials at your fingertips—from decorating and garden supplies to our popular kitchens and bathrooms.

“Featuring top brands like Dulux, Harris, Crown, Westland and more. Stay tuned for even more exciting Homebase updates coming your way soon.”

CDS has said customers buying items on the Homebase website will also be able to click and collect them at more than 200 The Range and Wilko stores across the UK.

The website launch comes as the following 13 Homebase stores are due to shut their doors for good this month, although the exact dates for each are yet to be announced:

  • Cheltenham

  • Colchester Stanway

  • Coventry

  • Derby Chaddesden

  • Gloucester

  • Hull Hessle

  • London Streatham Vale

Closing down sales have also been launched at several UK stores and Homebase workers are being consulted and supported as negotiations continue. CDS has confirmed nine Homecase sites will be turned into The Range stores and it plans to open at least 50 shops in the next four months.

Alex Simpkin, CDS Superstores chief executive, said at the time: “We’ve stepped in following the sad demise of the much-loved Homebase brand, which has had a long and previously successful history of helping UK households with their DIY projects and gardening needs, for over 45 years.”
