When it comes to the upcoming Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9, and the parties that come with it, it’s often the day after that is dreaded.
In fact, according to a recent survey conducted on behalf of Coors Light, 60% of Canadians agree they are likely to have their own “case of the Mondays” after the big game.
The poll also says 87% of Canadians say Mondays are their least favourite day of the week, 30% dread the Monday after the Super Bowl with 21% planning to take it off.
With that in mind, Coors Light is launching a limited-edition 24-pack of beer called Mondays Light, which is available starting this week at Beer Stores and anywhere else beer is sold.
“We all know that many Canadians don’t generally love Mondays, but the Monday after the Big Game can feel like a particularly slow start to the week,” said Leslie Malcolm, v-p marketing, Canada, in a statement.
“So, we’re giving new meaning to the phrase ‘Case of the Mondays’ with our limited-edition case of Coors Light.”
According to the survey, 36% of Canadians say getting sucked back into routine was their biggest reason for disliking Monday, 41% said not having to work would make Monday more tolerable, and 29% said sleeping in would prove to be a boost.
The online poll was conducted by Talker Research on behalf of Coors Light with 3,000 respondents, age 21 and older, who will watch the 2025 Big Game (1,500 American, 750 each of English-speaking and French-speaking Canadians) between Dec. 16-31, 2024.
