weather reporter Sarah Keith-Lucas has been keeping Breakfast viewers updated with all the latest developments this morning.

“Some big waves around right across our coasts. We’ve got yellow warnings really across the UK, amber warnings in the north, but more serious red warnings in force across Northern Ireland and central Scotland,” she explained.

“Storm Eowyn has been intensifying over the last few days. There’s been a strong jetstream driving it through.”

Sarah added: “So, some really dangerous weather conditions out there due to the force of the wind. A frost and some icy stretches in the morning, but the focus today is on the strength of the wind and do stay at home if you can in those red warning areas.”
