Whiten ‘disgusting’ stained socks by soaking them in a magic solution

Gaining a following on , one enthusiast shared their go-to technique to make socks “whiter than white”.

If “disgusting” brown stains have ruined white socks in the household, a simple quick fix could restore them to their former glory.

Don’t worry about going out of your way to get some new socks when this simple hack could work wonders.

In the video, the content creator dubbed “Cleaning How To”, showcased his very dirty off-white gym socks.

Completely stained, he admitted his socks look “absolutely disgusting” before revealing how beautifully clean his socks look after mixing up the cleaning solution.

To do so, he recommended grabbing the “cheapest laundry detergent” you can get, or one you already have in the home.

The next step is to grab some Oxy Action Cleaner and dish soap, which will come together to form a powerful cleaning agent.

In a tub, he put the dirty socks inside, added a tiny squeeze of dish soap (i.e. washing-up liquid), poured in some boiled water from the kettle, some detergent and a spoonful of Oxy Action Cleaner.

“Give it all a good stir,” he instructed, adding that the mixture should be left for at least an hour to work its magic.

However, if the socks are really stained, like his were, then he suggests leaving the socks to soak overnight in the mixture.

“Then I threw it in the washing machine,” he revealed, clarifying that he put the cycle on a hot wash of 60C.

“Now you’ve got clean and white socks,” the content creator said, showing off his clean socks.

One curious commentator asked whether the hot wash shrunk the socks; the YouTube content creator replied: “Nope.”
