admitted that he was unsure about the future of after left it late to beat .
scored a last-gasp winner in stoppage time, with the Red Devils snatching victory in dramatic fashion just moments after Rangers had equalised.
Garnacho was one of United’s better performers, causing plenty of problems with his direct running out wide. His future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, with Napoli and thought to be keen on signing him before the January window closes.
The home fans were heard singing Garnacho’s name throughout the match, perhaps as an indication they would prefer him to stay.
Quizzed on the winger’s future in his post-match interview on TNT Sports, Amorim conceded: “I don’t know what will happen. Let’s focus on the games. We have these players so let’s improve the team and think about the players that are here.”
Amorim also lifted the lid on his decision to replace with Harry Maguire at the interval. The change was slightly surprising but the United boss explained that it was because De Ligt had picked up a knock.
“He felt something in his leg,” he said. “We cannot risk anything. I know we have to win but we also have to protect the players and show that everybody matters, everybody is important.”
Amorim recently described his United side as the worst in the history of the club but was left encouraged by their resilience against Rangers.
However, the 39-year-old made it clear that improvements are needed at the business end of the pitch after a slew of missed chances.
“We did well, we played better with the ball, more connections, more speed,” he reflected. “We started well and we lost control of the game for seven minutes because of small bad decisions.
“I think the lads did well, even when we suffered. We were so near to the second goal, missed so many chances, in this moment it was so hard. We recovered well and a good victory.
“I think it is everything together. We are not playing our best, we are far from that, but we improved from the last game. I know everything is different but they tried it and you can see the connections and movements.
“We did well for the time that we had to practice. We need to be more clinical in the right moments because that can help us a lot.”
