Chart-topping international sensation Harry Styles has left fans stunned after revealing he follows a , but could this lifestyle choice be the secret to his glowing health?
The revelation about Harry’s dietary preferences came to light in a Vogue profile piece, which also highlighted his commitment to health and well-being – including daily pilates, meditation and occasional juice cleanses.
The former One Direction heartthrob shared some insights into his typical diet, which as a pescatarian, is centred around fish and plant-based meals, with meat off the menu.
Styles revealed that he adopted eight years ago, inspired by the vegan dishes his bandmates would whip up on tour, and noted that his body felt significantly better after eliminating meat.
When he’s not indulging in toast in the shower, the pop star enjoys Mexican cuisine, particularly tacos and fresh guacamole.
His commitment to physical fitness is complemented by his pescatarian diet. Fish such as salmon, sardines and mackerel are rich in Omega 3 acids, which are known for their heart health benefits.
These acids can help prevent plaque build-up in arteries, lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease, arrhythmia and stroke.

Omega 3 has been touted as a crucial nutrient for cognitive function, reported to boost memory and potentially lessen the risk of conditions like dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society’s said: “It is often said that fish is ‘brain food’ and there is good evidence that eating fish, which contains omega-3, is good for your health.”
A study from 2022 revealed that while fish consumption or fish oil supplements might not influence the risk of Alzheimer’s disease directly, they do seem to cut down the risk of other dementias, such as vascular and frontotemporal dementia.
Nonetheless, the charity cautions that evidence is somewhat contradictory and calls for more in-depth research into Omega-3’s exact anti-dementia effects.
Moreover, adopting a diet rich in Omega 3 may also aid in , with plant-based diets typically lower in calories and processed fats, favouring complex carbohydrates rich in fibre.

Besides aiding in weight management, increased dietary fibre intake is beneficial for gut health, as highlighted by Cleveland Clinic registered dietitian Anthony DiMarino.
According to him: “Your microbiome plays a key role in your immune system, digestion and metabolism,” further suggesting that a nourished microbiome could positively impact mental wellbeing: “A healthy microbiome can also boost your mental health.”
However, it’s not just health benefits that are driving individuals towards such diets; ethical and environmental considerations also play a part.
Cutting down on meat helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which in turn shrinks one’s carbon footprint.
