Gabby Logan’s star son appears to have ditched to play for Reuben Logan, who at 6ft5 towers above even Gary Barlow’s 6ft2 son, was spoilt for choice over which nation to represent due to his family’s mixed heritage.
England, and Scotland were his options, and he initially chose the former. Reuben’s is the daughter of Wales football legend Terry Yorath, while his dad, Kenny, was a Scotland rugby union hero who won 70 caps. He has represented England at U18 level and was part of their U20 training squad just a few months ago.
However, the back-row forward, who plays for Northampton Saints at club level, has seemingly decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps after being named in Scotland’s U20 squad for their campaign.
Having started out in the Wasps academy, Reuben moved to Northampton almost two years ago. He was joined at his contract signing by his famous parents, and said: “Feeling very honoured to have signed my first professional contract with Northampton Saints, so grateful for this opportunity.”
Meanwhile, a thrilled Kenny told at the time: “I just want Reuben to enjoy his journey. He’s got a great opportunity at a fantastic club, and rugby is a wonderful sport to be part of. It’s a different world to when I played, but I always say to Reuben, ‘just go and express yourself.’”
Reuben made his debut for the club as a replacement against Cambridge in the Premiership Cup in September 2023. He earned his first start in the same competition in November 2024 against Nottingham.

The 19-year-old, who has a twin sister called Lois, is now looking to further his development in Scotland’s youth ranks. Following the squad announcement, Scotland U20 head coach Kenny Murray said: “Everyone knows Reuben is Scottish-qualified through his dad.
“He’s been involved in the England set-up, he’s been involved at Northampton Saints. Pete Walton [the nation’s Scottish-qualified performance players tradition manager] has been tracking all of our Scottish-qualified players down there.
“There’s an opportunity for him to come into our environment. We’ve been watching him and we just liked what we saw. So we’re bringing him in and we’re going to have a look at him.” Scotland U20s begin their Six Nations campaign against Italy on Friday, January 31.
