Donald Trump has “every reason to dislike” after the actress once made “disparaging comments” about him, a royal commentator has said.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has made her views on Trump clear over the years, particularly before her 2018 wedding to .
Appearing on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in 2016, Meghan did not shy away from voicing her opinion when it came to Trump just a year before his first presidency.
This was before her relationship with was made public.
The duchess called Trump “misogynistic” in the interview. She also said: “Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that world he is painting.”

Now Trump is back in office again, royal commentator Tom Bower believes Meghan’s previous comments could put the couple at risk, especially as
This comes after the prince, who has lived in America for the last five years with Meghan and their two children, admitted to drug-taking in his 2023 memoir Spare, something which can massively impact US visas being permitted. It is not known whether Harry declared his previous drug use in his visa application.
, Bower said: “Trump has every reason to dislike his (Harry’s) wife Meghan for having said disparaging comments about him.
“Harry has good reason to fear that Trump may want revenge, not least to punish the prince for undermining the Royal Family who the new president revers, especially after recently meeting William in Paris.”
