Speaking to , he revealed how he was forced to scare off the farmyard animals wearing nothing but a towel.

He told the outlet: “Sometimes we have wildlife there that we don’t want. One time some cattle got in. I got in the bath, looked out if the window and there was a big white face looking at me”.

But things quickly went awry which he ran out to scare them off. The presenter went on: “So I got a towel and rushed outside to chase them.

“I put on some wellies and then the towel fell and I was running around Long Meadow stark b*****k naked. But we got them out and we keep them out.”

It comes after Gardeners’ World fans urged the host to “stay safe” in his garden after he shared a worrying update online. Monty began presenting the popular gardening series in 2003 – with a hiatus from 2008 to 2011.

Taking to , the presenter showed his well-kempt garden to his followers after it had been hit by snow and floods. The aftermath of severe UK weather left his outdoor space under deep, dirty water.

He captioned the post: “I think this is the first time in 34 years we have simultaneously had flooding and lying snow. In any event the roads to the garden are flooded so no vehicles in or out today.”

In recent months, fans have been speculating online about whether the TV star will call it a day with Don after he opened up about the struggles he faces with the series.

However, he has assured fans the programme will continue for now, revealing to : “I never make plans beyond two years, but I’ve agreed to do another two [from January 2025].

“Every time I think, ‘Am I really going to do this?’ But the truth is that I do enjoy it. I’m lucky because it’s in my own garden. If the programme is made well, I’ll continue.”
