Things took a chaotic turn during the latest instalment of ‘s Bargain Hunt as a contestant was forced to miss a portion of the show due to a back injury.
Presenter Eric Knowles was back with another set of contenders hoping to win big in the ultimate challenge of buying antiques to hopefully gain a huge profit when later put on auction.
Thurday’s show (January 23) took place in Detling, Kent with experts Catherine Southon and Mark Stacey prepared to assist their teams.
Ready to go head to head in the challenge was the red team, which consisted of mother and daughter duo Rhian and Keren and enthusiastic couple Jay and Billie, who were representing the blues.
But although both teams got off to a flying start, with the red team racing through Detling’s car boot sale, things later on took a devastating turn.

Initially, although mum Keren appeared to be fit and well throughout the first half of the programme, near the end of the show she was forced to make an unexpected exit.
Once the red team purchased their three items that they wanted to sell at the auction, Keren was unable to witness the fruits of her labour and discover if any of the items made a profit due to ill health.
Eric said: “Well Rhian, I can see you’re flying solo today, no Keren.”
Rhian replied: “Yes, yes I am, unfortunately. She’s hurt her back but she’s really really devastated not to make it here tonight. But she’s here with me in spirit.”

Trying to remain positive, Eric said: “But you got the great support right next to you in your expert, in our Catherine. Well as you can see Rhian, where not in the auction room but you have a live feed,” as he pointed to the screen in front of them.
It is not clear whether Keren injured her back while filming however despite her not being there, Rhian still managed to represent her team well.
To make matters even better for the mother and daughter pairing, later on the show, Eric revealed that their three items at auction secured them a win and a profit of £62.
Gushing at the results, Eric told Rhian to wish her mother all the best and that she would be very pleased with the results.
