The evil Southport killer has got off lightly.
The 18-year-old monster was for the sick murder of three innocent girls: Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven.
Details of their injuries are too awful to repeat – and their families have rightly asked the media not to report the graphic details.
But I reckon most of us still thought the same thing when we heard the redacted details of Rudakubana’s crimes: string him up.
In better times, Mr Justice Goose, presiding, would have donned the black cap and handed down the death sentence.
But Rudakubana will instead enjoy a lifetime of free bed and board.
No doubt he’ll also have an Xbox, TV and plenty of time for exercise.

The wider public are also in favour of the return of capital punishment. A believe child killers should get the death penalty, according to YouGov pollsters.
Just 36% oppose the ultimate punishment for child killers. They are the deluded types who believe monsters like Rudakubana can be reformed and endlessly worry about miscarriages of justice.

But how could there possibly have been a miscarriage of justice in Rudakubana’s case? And how could he ever be reformed?
The killer pleaded guilty to all charges brought against him and even had the sickening gall to tell police officers: “I’m so glad those kids are dead.”
Cretins like Rudakubana cannot be fixed. No amount of time in prison will turn them into upstanding citizens fit to walk the same streets as the rest of us.
Reform UK’s Lee Anderson and Rupert Lowe, , know exactly what should be done with people like Rudakubana.
Now it’s time for and to get off the fence and do what the public demands: bring back the death penalty.
